THE 2014 TEEN SUMMIT - NOT ABOUT THAT LIFE!
The 2014 Grand Rapids Teen Summit, presented by A.I.D.S.,
Inc. (Advocacy, Information and Diverse Services) and Baxter Community Center in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (Theta Chi
Omega Chapter) and Baxter Community Center, is an educational forum that brings together teens in the Grand Rapids community to explore healthy realtionships and sexual health.
The Teen Summit, themed "Not About That Life" is geared toward middle and high school students and their parents, emphasizing social and sexual
awareness, and personal development.
The active and open discussion panels will allow young adults to share their insights on social issues ranging from bullying to what it's
like to live as a teen in a world without walls.
Attendees will be able to attend workshop sessions and participate in active and open dicussion panels that dive deep within their world,
touching on issues that effect their everday lives.

For teens to foster healthy relationships and avoid behaviors that contribute to unhealthy lifestyles through education, dialogue, and interactive activities.
- Promote positive self-image.
- Enhance teens’ ability to cultivate healthy relationships and recognize the signs of unhealthy relationships.
- Increase the motivation of teens to avoid “at risk” behaviors.
- Increase awareness and knowledge among teens concerning sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS, and encourage them to abstain from sexual activity.
